In a message posted to the official MultiVersus Twitter account, Warner Bros. announced that the fighting game’s second Tech Test will be held starting February 25. The Tech Test is available only to players who have been invited, but anyone is able to apply via the official MultiVersus website. Starting next Friday, the Tech Test will last for 10 days before ending March 7. In other words, it’s a rather substantial opportunity for those invited to get a full MultiVersus experience.

Since there’s already been a MultiVersus Tech Test in December, some information has been made available regarding the nature of Warner Bros.’ plans. The most important detail is that this is a completely closed test. That means that players aren’t free to share their impressions, nor can they share screenshots or video clips. There’s an NDA in effect and those who violate it will be banned, including from further testing.
What Warner Bros. wants from the test is feedback. Since it can’t be shared publicly, what’s being asked for is comments and thoughts on what’s likely a private forum or survey. Of course, Warner Bros. will also be collecting its own data, checking out trends in player behavior, balance between characters, and so on. Since it’s a game in a beta state, players can expect significant changes between now and launch.
There are also some limitations to who will be able to apply to the MultiVersus Tech Test. First, it’s a PC-only test, likely just because it’s the easiest to run and to gather data through. Console tests will come in the future. It’s also regionally exclusive and is only available to those in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America. International players will be supported in the future.
All in all, it’s a very limited test and very few players will ultimately get to play MultiVersus. However, for fans of Super Smash Bros.-style fighting games or the various franchises included in MultiVersus, it’s worth applying and maybe getting an early chance to try the game out.
MultiVersus releases in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
