Stripe has been planned for MultiVersus for some time. Player First initially confirmed that Stripe was on the way as part of its MultiVersus Season 1 announcement. The announcement confirmed two upcoming characters for MultiVersus, which were Stripe and Black Adam. Black Adam has yet to be released, but fellow Gremlins character Gizmo arrived in early September. It was only a matter of time before Stripe joined the roster, too, and it seems it’s now his turn.

Player First shared a post on Twitter on Friday that offered a “Class Breakdown” for Stripe detailing the character’s basic abilities. First, the post confirmed that Stripe would be MultiVersus’ next Assassin, joining the likes of Arya Stark, Finn, and Harley Quinn. Then it listed Stripe’s three abilities: Nasty Swipes, a physical combo ending with a bite, Chain(saw) Reaction, has Stripe bound forward with a chainsaw, and Sharpshooter, which fires a projectile.

Assassins in MultiVersus are a surprisingly undefined class, though that’s a fair criticism for most of the game’s classes. They’re intended to be highly mobile, somewhat squishy, and high-damage dealers. It’s unclear how Stripe will fit into this category looking at his abilities, though dashing from side to side with a chainsaw would certainly fit the role. The mix of a projectile, particularly one that doesn’t revolve around mobility like Arya’s dagger does, definitely seems at odds with the Assassin nature.

As for when MultiVersus players can expect to play Stripe, the new character is expected to be available starting “next week.” A final release date has yet to be confirmed but MultiVersus players can expect an official update from Player First when the work weeks starts back up.

Stripe isn’t going to be the final character of Season 1, either. MultiVersus Season 1 officially ends on November 15, so there’s still plenty of time for Player First to release more content. Black Adam is the only remaining character that’s officially announced, but don’t be surprised if Player First has other surprises left to share over the next month.

MultiVersus is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
