PC Gamer has reported on stats shared by tracker.gg, which claims that MultiVersus has had over 10.255 million unique accounts made since the game’s closed beta. The open beta opened the floodgates for many more fans to try out MultiVersus, and if the stats are accurate, it seems as though they’ve been showing up in droves.

MultiVersus has earned praise for its competitive focus, interesting roster, and generally solid online gameplay. There have been some bumps in the road, but otherwise it seems MultiVersus is well on its way to establishing itself as a viable rival to Super Smash Bros. It remains to be seen if MultiVersus can not only maintain these impressive numbers but also draw new players in, but it should have a decent shot at doing so. MultiVersus is adding a ranked mode, arcade, new skins, and more new content when Season 1 launches, so that should prove to be a big draw for fans.
Of course, another way MultiVersus will be able to draw in new players regularly is through its roster additions. The MultiVersus roster is already impressively diverse, but there’s always room to add more fighters to the lineup. The next MultiVersus fighters are Rick and Morty from the Rick and Morty cartoon series, but it remains to be seen who will join the roster later on.
Player First Games has kept quiet about future MultiVersus DLC characters, but leaks and data mines have potentially given fans an idea of what to expect. If the MultiVersus character leaks are to be believed, it seems fans of the game can look forward to the debuts of characters like Gandalf, Daenerys Targaryen, Marvin the Martian, and even some original characters made specifically for MultiVersus.
Right now, MultiVersus has one original character, the Support character Reindog, but leaks suggest more are on the way. The real money is going to be with the characters from established franchises, of course, so it will definitely be interesting to see if the leaks were right and who else will make their way to the crossover fighting game.
The MultiVersus open beta is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
