A huge community has flocked to the game, and many are discussing its merits, needed changes, characters, and more. One element that makes Super Smash Bros. so successful is its constant crossovers, which often require huge big, behind-the-scenes deals between multiple companies. MultiVersus really needs this to take it to the next level, and just like Sora and many Smash characters before him, MultiVersus fans already have an ideal DLC character in mind.

Many want to see characters like Regular Show’s Mordecai and Rigby in MultiVersus, but perhaps the most demanded character in the community is Breaking Bad’s Walter White. Of course, that is a markedly different character from its current roster altogether, but on the other hand, that’s the point. And now fans think game director Tony Huynh is teasing his possible addition.
There is a Twitter account dedicated to promoting the addition of Walter White to MultiVersus, and it commonly uses the nose-bandaged, green shirt Walter White (from his iconic “I won” moment in Season 4’s finale) as a character mock-up for him. This account recently tweeted a mock-up of what EVO 2023 could look like for MultiVersus, of course with Walter White worked into it. The kicker here is that Tony Huynh recently retweeted this post, and the official MultiVersus Twitter account also follows it.
Of course, whether this is a simple community engagement act or an actual tease remains to be seen. Many fans hope it is the latter, and it’s worth noting how Breaking Bad games have been discussed before by Vince Gilligan. This isn’t the GTA-style game he dreamed of, but having a little Walter White representation here definitely wouldn’t hurt its brand, which is one of the main concerns of a game set in the franchise. As a guest fighter, Walter’s inclusion would likely check off a lot of boxes on all sides, but who knows, it could simply be a pipe dream.
MultiVersus is now available in open beta for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
