MultiVersus was first revealed late last year with a trailer that confirmed just how diverse the game’s roster would be. The initial trailer confirmed the likes of Batman, Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, Arya Stark of Game of Thrones fame, and more. And now WB has released a brand-new cinematic trailer for MultiVersus that confirms three more characters for the ever-expanding roster, while also confirming when the open beta is coming.

As seen in the new MultiVersus cinematic trailer, the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes, The Iron Giant, and Velma from Scooby-Doo are joining the lineup of playable characters. Those interested in trying the game for themselves can try signing up for the MultiVersus closed alpha, taking place from May 19 to May 27, with 15 playable characters available. 16 characters have been revealed so far, and so it seems The Iron Giant is being left out of the closed alpha.

MultiVersus Roster

Arya Stark (Game of Thrones Batman (DC Comics) Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes) Finn the Human (Adventure Time) Garnet (Steven Universe) Harley Quinn (DC Comics) Jake the Dog (Adventure Time) Reindog Shaggy (Scooby-Doo) Steven Universe Superman (DC Comics) Taz (Looney Tunes) The Iron Giant Tom and Jerry Velma (Scooby-Doo) Wonder Woman (DC Comics)

Those who would rather wait for the MultiVersus open beta should note that it’s scheduled to start at some point in July. A specific start date for the open beta has not been revealed at the time of this writing, but more information should come to light as we get closer to its start date. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see what else is revealed for MultiVersus between now and the beta start date. Perhaps more MultiVersus stages will be revealed, or maybe even more characters will be shown off.

So far, the free-to-play MultiVersus seems to be going to great lengths to appeal to fans, with an impressive roster of characters and nods to memes like Ultra Instinct Shaggy. It’s too early to say if the game will be able to stand toe-to-toe with the likes of Super Smash Bros., but it wouldn’t be for lack of trying.

MultiVersus is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
