The iconic Team India cricketer will now take over as skipper of new franchise Rising Pune Supergiants in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Dhoni’s 8-year captaincy stint with the Chennai Super Kings was a highly successful one as they were crowned champions on two occasions and ended as runners-up four times.
However, following the two-year suspension of CSK from the league, alongside the Rajasthan Royals, MS Dhoni was picked up by one of the new franchises that replaced the suspended teams.
Dhoni has not wasted any time in getting familiar with his new franchise as he posted an image of him training with the team on his Facebook page.
MS Dhoni is one of the greatest leaders that the game has ever seen and has the calibre to make champions out of a normal bunch of cricketers. Moreover, he has shown numerous glimpses of his old self with the bat in recent times as well.
These factors combine with several others to make the ninth edition of the IPL as a mouth-watering prospect, especially for MS Dhoni fans.
