It was Ziggler that Otis was able to defeat to gain a place in this year’s contract ladder match. He briefly turned the match into a food fight, before taking advantage of an interference from Elias to catch the case and take the contract.

It’s unknown what Otis will do with his contract since he could make history by cashing in on one of the Tag Team Championships along with Tucker, but this will become clearer this Friday night on SmackDown.

Whilst Otis has been on the main roster now for over a year, there are some facts about the former NXT star that have remained under wraps.

#5. Mandy Rose and Otis are good friends in real life

Mandy Rose and Otis have been put together on WWE TV in recent months and have been able to be part of quite a personal storyline. The fact that their chemistry on-screen is so strong could be why it has been such a success story, and the reason behind this is their friendship outside the ring.

Otis and Mandy have been friends ever since they met back in NXT and that has only helped them become a believable couple on-screen.

Rose recently spoke to Sports Illustrated, where she lifted the lid on the relationship between the two stars off-screen.

#4. Otis is dyslexic

Otis is a relatively unknown Superstar in WWE at present, since he has only been with the company for a few years, but in doing so he has managed to become a role model for a lot of young children.

Otis recently revealed that he struggled with dyslexia whilst he was in high school, which meant that he was bullied a lot. There are several WWE fans out there at present that are struggling with the same learning disability and seeing someone like Otis make it to WWE despite his problems is inspirational.

The former NXT star recently spoke to Lilian Garcia on the Chasing Glory podcast, where he was able to open up about the struggles of his youth.

#3. Otis used to work as a doorman

Otis is one of the stars that didn’t come from a long line of wrestlers, which means that he worked at a number of different jobs before he found his way to WWE.

Whilst talking to Corey Graves on the After The Bell podcast, Otis was able to talk about his time working in a nightclub as a doorman. This year’s Money in the Bank contract winner stated that he worked pretty much every job in the nightclub before ending up on the door. The interview also allowed Otis to share some interesting stories about the things that he saw on a night out.

#2. Otis has two dogs called Phoebe and Faulkner

Otis may be part of a storyline with Mandy Rose on WWE TV at present, but Mr. Money in the Bank only really has a place in his heart for his two beautiful dogs. Like many WWE superstars, Otis is on the road along with Tucker for the best part of the year which means that he has to leave his family behind. For the former NXT star, this also includes his two dogs.

Otis has shared a number of heartwarming images of his dogs on social media in recent weeks, along with the images of himself and his new flame Mandy Rose. What has become known about his dogs are their names Phoebe and Faulkner and the fact that one is a boy and one is a girl.

Many WWE stars are able to keep pets whilst they are on the road since they have families that watch their dogs for them and this then allows them to come home to their fur babies after months of traveling.

#1. His great-grandmother was a wrestler

Otis isn’t from a long line of professional wrestlers like many current WWE stars, but during a recent appearance on After The Bell with Corey Graves, Otis was able to reveal that his great-grandmother was once a wrestler.

His great-grandmother wasn’t the traditional wrestler who appears on TV at present though since the former NXT star revealed that she was a carnival wrestler who would hand out bodyslams for the audience who had come to watch the show.
